Daniel Samonas
"Darren"
Hometown: Coral Springs, FL
age 13

Daniel Nicholas Patrick Samonas was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario – Canada on March 7, 1990.  He began acting and modeling at the tender age of 5 when he told his Mom that he really wanted to be in magazines and on TV.  Daniel signed with an agent and booked three jobs in his first week.  He continued to work in both print and commercials and had a lot of fun.

At age 11, Daniel’s family moved to South Florida because of his father’s work.  Daniel was immediately successful in the Miami area, booking more than 60 print jobs in the first 4 months, as well as a few commercials.

After taking some acting classes and working on several student films, the acting bug really bit him.  He was very much challenged in the film, Ephraim, where he portrayed a blind child who has the ability to touch people and feel their deepest secrets.  This film won Daniel rave reviews.

Most recently Daniel appeared in the feature film, Hitters Anonymous, starring Steven Bauer, Michelle Matheson, Linda Blair, Clint Howard, and Tom Nowicki.  He also appears as the younger brother to the lead character, Adam Rodriguez, in the soon to be released feature film, Thanks to Gravity, starring Sean Astin, Gina Philips and Joaquim de Almeida.

In La Migra, a feature scheduled to be released by Breakaway Films in Blockbuster this fall, you can see Daniel at the beginning of the film as he witnesses his friend being shot by the border patrol as they are playing.  This is a very dramatic and intense role for Daniel, to say the least.  Pizza Palace, another feature Daniel worked on, took him to Baltimore, MD.  Daniel played the role of Peter Corey, an American preteen of Hellenic ancestry.

Daniel has appeared in 13 films within the past two years as well as a lead role in a pilot for a television series.  He recently lent his voice to a new animated series, Clubhouse Chronicles, as a lead character.  In the Rich Hardesty music video, Curious, Daniel plays the younger version of Rich.

Future projects include the lead role of Joey Santos in a new TV series, The Solvers, scheduled to begin shooting in Orlando, Florida this fall.  You can also see Daniel in the new ad campaign for www.games-n-flix.com with Ben Curtis, the “Dell Dude,” airing nationally.

Daniel is very proud of the fact that he and his brother John (17) are very close.

In his spare time Daniel likes to go to the movies with friends, play X-box, Playstation 2, and almost any sport.  And of course, having grown up in Canada, he does play ice hockey.
